Eliot Hine Workday + Garden Steward Picnic

  • Eliot Hine Middle School 1830 Constitution Avenue Northeast Washington, DC, 20002 United States (map)

Join City Blossoms for a Workday and garden steward picnic!

Read our Volunteer Waiver then complete the form below to sign up for this event.

Join City Blossoms in the Eliot Hine garden! This will be phase one of a new garden build, and tasks will include removing old garden materials, building raised beds, establishing the perennial beds, planting perennials, and painting the shed. Garden Stewards are invited to a post-workday picnic starting at 1pm where City Blossoms will provide lunch and music. We will gather in the garden then walk over to Lincoln Park for the picnic. We recommend bringing a blanket to sit on!

If you are bringing your children to volunteer or participate with you, there is a field to list their names and sign on their behalf. If you are a youth volunteer or participant under 18 years of age, you can fill out the form as usual and have your parent/guardian review and sign at the end. Email cara@cityblossoms.org with any questions.

About the space: Eliot Hine is a middle school partner through our School Garden Partners program. Through this partnership, our team will help clean-up their living outdoor classroom and exploration area for teachers and students to utilize throughout the school year. Students, parents, and the school community are regularly able to access this garden for after school garden clubs, during school lessons, and community celebrations.
