The City Blossoms Pathways Model

Our Pathways Model is composed of six programs that take place in schools and other community-based locations during and out-of-school time. The model is designed to provide consistent, sustained access to local green space, environmental education, and nature-based activities—proven to positively impact the holistic health of children, youth, and their communities.

The gardens and green spaces across all our programs support youth stewardship and connection to nature. Through activities like cooking with fresh produce, composting, and hands-on learning about plant and water cycles and pollination, our gardens encourage youth to grow their curiosity and direct their own learning about the natural world. Our gardens provide safe space for youth to engage with local climate resilience efforts around critical issues such as food apartheid, pollution, and the heat island effect—all while promoting healthy, organic gardening and fostering entrepreneurship skills.
