Pest Management Workday at Girard
Join City Blossoms for a Girard Garden Workday!
Read our Volunteer Waiver then complete the form below to sign up for this event. For groups larger than 5 people, email cara@cityblossoms.org to check availability. Space is limited.
Join City Blossoms in the Girard garden! This is slightly different from a typical garden workday as it will primarily involve rat mitigation efforts such as digging up rat holes, trimming undergrowth on bushy plants, and other rat abatement activities. This will be a great opportunity for volunteers that are interested in learning about pest management and who aren't afraid to see a rat scurry away at times!
If you are bringing your children to volunteer or participate with you, there is a field to list their names and sign on their behalf. If you are a youth volunteer or participant under 18 years of age, you can fill out the form as usual and have your parent/guardian review and sign at the end. Email cara@cityblossoms.org with any questions.
About the space: Girard Children’s Garden is our oldest Community Green Space. Built in 2008, this site is where our team developed much of our kid-driven programming, recipes, and garden design. This space is now one of four Community Green Spaces we manage. It serves as a space for free Open Time programming, service-learning opportunities, community celebrations, and so much more! Girard demonstrates our unique style as an organization by prioritizing natural exploration areas, kid-friendly plants, and lots of creativity, inspired by the local community.
