Open Time at Girard Children's Garden

  • Girard Children's Garden 1480 Girard Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20009 United States (map)

WHAT ARE OPEN TIMES?

Open Times are scheduled sessions at our Community Green Spaces that include FREE staff-led activities for children and families. Open Times are a chance for visitors to experience the garden through a variety of activities, including art and maintenance. Anyone who comes to lend a hand is welcome to take home some garden goodies as part of our "you help, you harvest" policy. These sessions are canceled during inclement weather, including heavy rain or temperatures over 100ºF.

Individuals and groups of five or fewer are welcome to help out during Open Times, no RSVP required. Please note: we ask that all visitors continue to wear masks while inside the gardens. Our staff will primarily be working with children and families during programming hours. Volunteer tasks may vary based on the season and needs of each space.

PLEASE KEEP EACH OTHER SAFE BY…

  • Wearing a mask at all times in the gardens.

  • Continuing to maintain a distance of 3 feet from folks outside of your household.

  • Avoiding large gatherings in the gardens, as defined by the Mayor’s Office.

  • Refraining from visiting if you or someone within your household have a fever or any other symptoms outlined by the CDC.
