Food Waste Workshop and Movie Night in the Garden! Screening "Wall-E"

  • Marion Street Intergenerational Garden 1521 Marion Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20001 United States (map)

Workshop: If you want to start small and work with your current kitchen these are techniques to store and revive fresh food to reduce individual food waste. Discuss blanching and freezing veggies, "kitchen sink" quick recipes for freezing, crisping and reviving highly perishable items, proper storage for root veggies v herbs v fruit. And if, after all that, you still have food to throw away, we will go over simple easy composting options at home or in the city.

And/or come watch the movie, Wall-E, with us with some popcorn and lemonade!
